“Go and liberate yourself from your Hijab first before you liberate Nigerian women” – Seun Kuti tells Aisha Yesufu (video)
Seun Kuti has slammed Aisha Yesufu in a new video.
The musician said what caused him and Aisha Yesufu to have argument on TV was her saying she was fighting for the liberation of women.
Seun told her that African women are the ones who are enjoying the most freedom in the world and this is all thanks to African traditions, not Arabic or European traditions brought by the Islamic and Christian missionaries.
He said that even the Arabic and Europeans were shocked to see how much right women have in Africa and they questioned why this is so.
Seun said in Europe, women’s place is in the kitchen, which is why European women came up with feminism to fight for their rights.
However, he said such is not needed in Africa because African women enjoy freedom, all thanks to the traditional African men.
