We Will Participate In Enugu Council Election - APC

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) elders from the North Central region, under the leadership of former Senate President Ameh Ebute, have boldly declared that the 2027 general elections will be a smooth victory for the party.

Naija News reports that the party stakeholders made this remark during a trip to the APC’s national headquarters in Abuja on Monday to felicitate with former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, following his victory in a legal battle against his removal as the party’s chairman.

This news platform reported earlier that the legal action was taken by the APC’s North Central APC Forum, asking the court to rule that Ganduje’s role as the party’s chairman violated the rules outlined in Article 7(vii) and (ix) of the APC’s constitution, as well as the agreement made at the 2022 National Convention in Abuja, which stipulated that the APC’s national chairman from 2022 to 2026 should be from the North Central geopolitical zone of the nation.

However, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja said the “APC North Central Forum is not a juristic person and not registered in law and therefore has no legal power and capacity to file the suit.”

Also, Ekwo faulted the suit on the ground that the group failed to exhaust internal mechanisms for peaceful resolution of the issue before approaching the court.

During the visit to Ganduje’s office shortly after the court’s declaration, Ebute said, “We feel we should be the first to come and congratulate you on your winning of the Edo governorship election for the party; for adding Edo to states controlled by the APC. We have no doubt in your ability to lead this party to a higher level.

“We are happy that the suit seeking your sack as national chairman was struck out. We are solidly behind you, and we shall continue to support you in taking the party to the next level. With these achievements, we believe 2027 will be a walkover.”

Similarly, a former presidential aspirant, Cesnabmilhilo Oken’oval, who was part of the delegation, said, “We are very happy with your leadership, and we will continue to support you. 2027 election will be the greatest shock; we will carry it clear and clean.”

In his remark on the victory at the Federal High Court, Abuja, Ganduje said, “There is no doubt that claim was baseless and was treated by the court as such. We don’t fear such baseless litigations.”
