Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has condemned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike for publicly attacking erstwhile vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

He reminded Wike that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) he is trying to destroy is the brainchild of Atiku.

Eze said it was condemnable that Wike could attack Atiku while boasting of his capacity to fight those he called his enemies.

Naija News reports that while addressing his followers over the weekend, the FCT minister had said that Nigerians rejected Atiku at the polls.

Reacting, Eze said it was disappointing that someone could make such comments about Atiku, whom he described as a detribalised Nigerian and politician of class.

I read with misgiving the recent shocking statement credited to Wike at an event he organised for his outgone misguided lawmakers that Nigerians rejected former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“That statement coming from somebody I see as one of the beneficiaries of the PDP political platform is an affront to Atiku, Nigeria’s foremost mobiliser, democrat, philanthropist, and detribalised politician.

“Maybe the Rivers-born [politician] is ignorant or seems to have forgotten that one of the fundamental characteristics of politics is that there is no permanent enemy but permanent interest,”
Eze said in a statement he made available to the media on Monday.

As much as the FCT Minister may not know how the PDP was midwifed into existence prior to the 1999 general elections, the uncontroverted fact remains that Atiku was instrumental to the election of the first President under PDP, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo,” he added.
