In tonight’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday three tie against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya, the Super Eagles will set up in a 4-3-3 formation.
Super Eagles interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen, has gone with Chippa United’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, as his first-choice goalie for the encounter, which will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, later tonight.
The defensive line will be manned by a robust quartet consisting of Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Calvin Bassey, and Bruno Onyemaechi. Their collective prowess and tactical awareness will be crucial in thwarting the opposition’s attacking endeavours.
In midfield, the Super Eagles will be anchored by the trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and the versatile Alex Iwobi. Their ability to control the tempo of the game and dictate play will be pivotal in asserting dominance in the middle of the park.
Leading the attacking line will be Bayer Leverkusen’s dynamic forward, Victor Boniface, whose predatory instincts and goal-scoring prowess will pose a constant threat to the Libyan defence. He will be ably supported by the skilful duo of Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon, who will provide creative impetus and incisive runs to unlock the opposition’s defence.
