Iran Issues Fresh Warning To Israel Amid Lingering 'War'

The Iranian authority has issued a stern warning to Israel against launching any attack on its infrastructure, particularly nuclear and oil facilities, amid the ongoing war.

Naija News reports that the warning came amid concern about a potential Israeli assault following Iran’s recent missile launch against the former.

“Any attack against infrastructure in Iran will provoke an even stronger response,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Tuesday.

Araghchi’s statements followed Israel’s declaration of possible countermeasures in reaction to Iran’s missile strike on October 1, which was the second of such attack by Iran on Israel in just six months.

Stressing that Iran has no intention of starting a conflict in the area, Araghchi issued a serious warning to Israel, signalling Iran’s preparedness to take strong action against any hostile moves.

“We have no desire for war in the region,” he declared in a formal statement issued on Monday.

Last Friday, United States President Joe Biden called on Israel to shelve any attempt to target Iran’s oil facilities, highlighting Iran’s status as one of the leading exporters of crude oil globally.

General Rassul Sanairad of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps added that any attack on Iran’s nuclear or energy sites would constitute a breach of Iran’s “red line.”

Remarking on the heightened tensions, he said: “Some political leaders have spoken of a possible change in Iran’s nuclear policy.”

Despite earlier warnings about Iran’s potential to develop nuclear weapons, the country has consistently denied any plans to do so, arguing that its efforts are purely for peaceful ends.

Last year, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) observed that Iran temporarily reduced its uranium enrichment activities but quickly restarted the production of uranium enriched to 60 per cent, which is the level needed for military-grade enrichment, which typically requires 90 per cent.

General Sanairad underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that an assault on Iran’s nuclear sites would provoke a strong reaction from Iran.

He pointed out that the missile attack on Israel was a direct retaliation for the assassinations of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut and Hamas political figure Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, whom Iran accuses Israel of killing, although Israel has not addressed these claims.
