The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo has said that the State is sticking to ₦70,000 minimum wage for workers.

He explained that if he considers deductions such as union dues, tax and other things, the workers might receive between ₦78,000 to ₦84,000 monthly.

However, he said he decided not to announce the figure because it would still come down to ₦70,000.

He assured that the least paid worker in Anambra State will go home with nothing less than ₦70,000.

Soludo stated this while meeting with the labour leaders in the state at the Governor’s lodge in Amawbia over the weekend.

According to Soludo, ”We approved the proposal by Organised Labour to ensure that the minimum take-home for a worker (after all deductions, including tax and Union dues) is at least ₦70,000 per month ( the gross salary could range from N78,000 to N84,000).”

‘Illiterate Population’ – Soludo Speaks On Failed Campaign Promise Of Making Anambra Dubai-Taiwan

Meanwhile, Soludo, has explained why he is yet to fulfil his campaign promise of making the state ‘Dubai-Taiwan of Nigeria.’

Naija News reports that Soludo, while speaking at a recent event, said some people feel making Anambra ‘Dubai-Taiwan’ is being able to see skyscrapers spring up everywhere overnight.

However, Souldo said that is not the case, as he cannot do that with an ‘illiterate population.’

Soludo emphasized that education is needed to bring his campaign promise to reality.
