The Libyan Football Federation (LFF) has made it clear that it will not tolerate any excuses from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) regarding their participation in the second leg of the Group D 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
Naija News reports that the statement follows recent travel disruptions that saw Nigeria’s team stranded at Al Abaq Airport for over 16 hours due to a sudden flight diversion.
The Super Eagles have since returned to Nigeria.
Posting on its X handle, the LFF shared several images of the Libyan national team in training, accompanied by a message stressing their commitment to the upcoming match at Benghazi’s Martyrs of Benina Stadium.
“Some may be used to putting up obstacles before the match, but here in the heart of Benghazi, specifically on the grounds of the Martyrs of Benina Stadium, there is no room for excuses after the starting whistle.
“Photos from our national team’s training at the Martyrs of Benina International Stadium, in preparation for the match against Nigeria on Tuesday evening, as part of the fourth round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers,” the federation stated, underscoring their readiness to compete despite the ongoing situation.
